EPOSS stands for the Elmet Partnership Of Schools and Services.
EPOSS Extended Services works alongside the EPOSS partnership to co-ordinate the delivery of the Extended Services Core Offer.
Extended Services Core Offer
The Government have set out a Core Offer of services that they would like all schools to offer access to (in partnership with local authorities and local providers) by 2010:
- VARIED MENU OF ACTIVITIES: Provide access to a variety of fun and stimulating activities for all children and young people.
- CHILDCARE: Primary Schools provide access to high quality childcare from 8:00 am — 6:00 pm, 5 days a week, in accordance with their communities' needs.
- PARENTING SUPPORT: Access to information sessions, supporting transitions, signposting toinformation, providing advice & support, access to parenting groups and family learning sessions (where need is identified).
- SWIFT & EASY ACCESS: Working closely with specialist services to ensure school children & young people with additional needs are identified early and supported.
- COMMUNITY ACCESS: Schools to provide access to their facilities for the local community; such as ICT, sports and arts facilities. This includes adult learning (where need is identified).
